Instead of being on the front side like traditional braces, the metal brackets and wires go on the back, facing your tongue, making them completely concealed when you talk or smile. How Do Lingual Braces Work?
To start your lingual braces process, our team will take an impression of your teeth, which will then go to a dental lab to make custom brackets, which usually takes about six weeks. Once they’re ready, Dr. Balicka will carefully attach the braces to the back of your teeth. This method works just like traditional braces, applying gentle, constant pressure to gradually move your teeth into the right position. Depending on your level of dental misalignment, the treatment typically takes anywhere from 18 to 36 months to complete.
